Princess For a Day
Mum had been longing to do this for years. It was a gorgeous Saturday in Palmerston North, and the sun had a subtle beam, spreading all around the Esplanade.
We were with Bernadette Peters who would be taking our family photos. All of us were dressed in accents of blue. My sister Sarah and I both were charming in our spring themed gowns.
We walked alongside sophisticated structures, like spotted trees standing together like soldiers, tree trunks trailing through the gardens, and tiny flowers made for fairies. Once in awhile we would find a unique backdrop and huddle together as she took photos.
I felt confident in my gown, with my hair flowing around my shoulders, like a princess. There was a certain elegance that hung in the air, and everything was really beautiful, because it was spring.
I enjoyed spending quality time with my family, and having someone there to capture our experience, so that we might never forget that special day.
